WHAT WE BELIEVE

These are some of the fundamental pillars of faith that form the basis of our doctrine and ministry as a church. We believe and are guided by these truths as we minister the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is the Holy scriptures that contains the unadulterated Word of God as inspired and written through the Holy Spirit. 2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17 (NKJV) “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

TRINITY

We believe that God is one in three personalities, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, reffered to as the Trinity. MATTHEW 28:19 (NKJV) Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is deliverance from the power of sin upon the fallen man. Romans 3:23 (NKJV) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

We believe all men are born in and with sin in their lives. We believe we all need a Saviour independent of the fallen nature.

We believe that God sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to be born on earth as a man without sin, to die and atone for the sin of humanity and save humanity from eternal damnation. John 3:16 (NKJV) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

We believe sin entered humanity from the first man, Adam, who sinned against God in the garden of Eden. We believe that all humanity must be saved from the Adamic sin which is the root of all other sins committed. Romans 5:12 (NKJV)

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned. 1 Corinthians 15:2-4 (NKJV) by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you— unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

We believe that one is saved by confessing and believing in Jesus Christ as a personal Savior. Romans 10:9 (NKJV) that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Acts 4:12 (NKJV) Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

THE CHURCH

We believe that the church is not a place or a structure or a building. We believe that the church is the body of believers, consisting everyone who has confessed and believed in Jesus Christ as his/her Savior.

We believe that where two or three people are gathered in the name of Jesus Christ (as born again believers) is a Church of God. Matthew 18:20 (NKJV) For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

CHURCH REFERENCES

Romans 16:3-5 (NKJV) Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, who risked their own necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia to Christ. Acts 5:11 (NKJV) So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things. 1 Corinthians 1:1,2 (NKJV) Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours.

BAPTISM

We believe that there are two kinds of baptism necessary in the life of a born again Christian according to the scriptures.

WATER BAPTISM

We believe in water baptism and Holy Ghost baptism. Matthew 3:11 (NKJV) I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

We believe that every believer in Jesus Christ should be baptized by immersion in water after confessing and believing in Jesus Christ as His/Her personal savior.

Acts 2:41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. Acts 8:37-38 Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.”And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM

We believe that every born again believer should be filled/baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 3:11 (NKJV) I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. John 7:37-39 (NKJV) On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.          He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing[a] in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. Acts 19:2-3 (NKJV) he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?” So they said, “Into John's baptism.”

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person in the Godhead who is the God personality on earth today. We believe that the Holy Spirit is one and equal with God the Father and God the Son.

We believe that the Godhead lives in every born again believer through the Holy Spirit. John 14:16-18 (NKJV) And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever —the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.\

GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the power of God works in and through all believers who are filled with the Holy Spirit in various ways as enabled by the Holy Spirit. These diverse ways are what we call the Gifts of the Holy Spirit as God’s empowerment to meet the needs of humanity supernaturally.

We believe that God is the sole giver of these gifts to men and He distributes them to His servants as He wills. 1 Corinthians 12:8-11 (NKJV) “for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”

...................................................................................................................................................................

TONGUES

We believe that God gives a supernatural ability to every born again believer, who is baptized with the Holy Spirit, to speak with new tongues. We believe that speaking in other tongues is the only outward evidence that a believer is baptized with the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:4 (NKJV) And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 19:6 (NKJV) And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

Mark 16:17 (NKJV) And these signs will follow those who believe:In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

We believe that the diversity of tongues includes both supernatural languages and those of men (Known languages on earth). 1 Corinthians 13:1a (NKJV) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,... 1 Corinthians 14:14(NKJV) For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.

...................................................................................................................................................................

INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES

We believe that the natural mind cannot understand spiritual tongues unless interpreted. God gives the supernatural ability, through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, to interpret all kinds of spiritual tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:13,14 (NKJV)Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 1 Corinthians 14:27,28 (NKJV) If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God.

1 Corinthians 12:30 (NKJV) Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 1 Corinthians 12:10,11 (NKJV) to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

We believe that prophecy can be uttered/given through tongues as they are interpreted. Acts 19:6 (NKJV) And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

MIRACLES

We believe that miracles are supernatural acts of God that are beyond the limits of men. We believe that God does many miracles on earth through His anointed servants.

We believe in God’s miraculous healing and deliverances through which God preserves and restores humanity from destruction. John 14:12 (NKJV) “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also;          and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” Mark 16:17, 18 (NKJV) And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

...................................................................................................................................................................

DELIVERANCE

WHAT IS DELIVERANCE?

We believe that salvation includes deliverance from sin and it’s consequences. We believe that satan, demons and all devils are evil spirits that are behind the many calamities that befall human kind. We believe that casting out these evil spirits is part of deliverance as demonstrated by Jesus Christ and His followers in the bible.

We believe we are mandated by the Holy scriptures to cast out evil spirits out of anyone under the oppression of satan. 1 John 3:8 (NKJV) He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

We believe that anyone can be attacked by these evil spirits if they compromise with satan and sin, hence the need for deliverance even within the body of believers. 1 Peter 5:8 (NJKV) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Mark 16:17, 18 (NKJV) And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

DISPENSATIONS

The Bible records various happenings that changed the creation and God’s position with men over thousands of years. These periods are what we refer to as dispensations.

We believe that we are in the last and final dispensation before the second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ hence our vision to teach and preach the Gospel so as to prepare the Church for the second coming of our Savior Jesus Christ. Matthew 24;14 (NKJV) And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
